What can make you jump right now? or to get up and run a mile? or make you get serious in studies? or can make you win a losing game?
What is the force which can make you cross the toughest of obstacles?
Its motivation, motivation gives you determination, dedication, right set of mind and the power to take your actions. My observation has been that motivation comes from four emotions. The emotions of love, anger, peace and fear. Let me explain them one by one.
Love
The numerous examples of romantic stories in which the lovers goes beyond limits to find their love, the love for science & curiosity which made so many discoveries & innovations possible.
Love is towards thing which you love doing & can do it continuously without getting tired. It’s your passion and your need, love is the force which makes you move towards your goals with full excitement and enthusiasm.
The simplest way that I can put it is “you do a thing because you love it”. It can be playing sports, reading, dancing, singing and what not. Love towards a thing gives you purpose in life. So, love is a very strong and effective form of motivation.
Anger
Anger and envy makes you do things that you didn’t knew you could do. Its quite normal that when someone is preparing hard for a test, which you too are going to give, seeing him you too are ready to go an extra mile.
The competitiveness in you makes you perform better then others. Anger towards an unfair deal, the corrupt politicians makes you take steps against them.
Anger being very explosive in nature, can be disasters if not controlled properly, anger is good till it make you drive in the right sense & doesn’t get unpleasant.
Anger is a great motivation, but it should be controlled properly.
Peace
Have you ever wondered, why do people go through the most difficult of terrains, climbing mountains in order to reach the temples at the top?
The answer could be faith, the belief that everything will be better and this belive gives them peace…
The peace of mind.
Why do some people leave, every belongings of their and take a life of saintly hood? They are ready to for go every thing they own or achieved.
Sometimes sports can be a form of peace, even watching sports make you forget your current problems and enjoy the moment. Studies, reading, meditating can be some forms of achieving peace too.
Fear
Fear of parents, teachers, society or any person you consider superior to yourself. Fear of remarks, fear of acceptance, fear of loss, fear of failure…
These are some common fears which makes you do things in the opposite direction, you would do anything and everything in order to avoid these fearful situations.
For example
The fear of failure will make study for exams. The fear of acceptance in group will make you go along with people.
Fears of various types and there is a fear of almost everything in this world, so is the motivation gained from it.
A fun note- the fear of a cockroach (i.e if you fear cockroach) will surely make you jump from your seat…this is the answer to the first question.
