Note to the reader: You can use this as walk-through for college,
which I made from my most treasured moments of AIT but I encourage you to
explore for yourself and find your own way.
Nobody can control the waves of the ocean, passing of the moon
every night, no matter how hard you try holding on to it, it will pass, and
that’s time. Some moments in your college life are so precious that we want to
live in them forever. But they say only one thing in this world is permanent
& that is change.
Each year, each semester you will see a lot of gradual changes in
yourself and when you pass out you will be a totally different person. Your
ideas, your thoughts, your principles all would have been changed, probably your
looks too.
These years in AIT, I have
transformed, various things led to this change. Some I highly recommend you to
try
Make Friends-
College is a place where you can meet strangers from whom you learn a lot, more
than any teacher can ever teach you who may end up being you friends for life.
It's said that your character is the average of the 5 people you most hang out
with, so be cautious about the company you keep. It will shape you.
Explore your Techi side- Give engineering a chance. I know some of you wanted to do something else, but now that you are here make the best of it. Give it a try; you might end up enjoying it. For those techies who always wanted to do this, it’s your time to shine.
Advice for a Techi Guy - I know you might be a hard core programmer or someone deeply engrossed in your project & don't give a damn about your attendance, but listen up, you could be detained! So attend the minimum required classes or if you are so smart, hack into the college attendance system so that your attendance never goes down.
Learn how to work in a team- This will teach you how impossible things can be achieved by the power of a large group working together for a common goal. Many incidents like winning as a branch in Aakriti or Tech Aakriti, competing against all colleges of India in events like Robocon, Baja or Supra, dancing in flash mobs and many more will turn out to be your most cherished memories of the college.
Get out of your comfort zone - Do things you always wanted to try like public speaking, painting, dancing, singing, sports, and writing, whatever is your calling. This is the perfect time to explore yourself, take a step into the unknown and don't be afraid of falling. Everyone falls on their first step, but eventually they end up getting better. If you become good in what you do, that will give you pride and confidence and if you don't it might just give you that time worth of experience.
Advice for an Artist- If you are an artist trapped in an Engineering college, you may be a musician, dancer, actor, director, writer, poet, painter and I know life is tough for you here, but you should never lose your artistic side. You will get many opportunities in AIT, Bloom and Grow because we need artists in this world.
If you are a traveler- Two words for you, Hard Luck.
If you are a Sports Person- Congrats! You are at the right place my friend, with all the sports facilities which you probably won't get in any other college, Play hard. Get selected in the college team, play for the university and make us all proud.

Take up a responsibility- Whether being a CR,
Branch head, Event head, Tech sec any Leadership role or having a fanti. This
will help you grow as an individual, will teach you how to manage people,
people will have respect for your work and look up to you.
Have Fun- Night outs are of Grave Importance and we all know what that teaches (how to control your liquor, things not to do after getting drunk, how to do drunken finance, how to control your drunken friends from doing crazy things.), Some of the Hang out places which are running because of Aitians are Sher-e-Punjab, Uncles Kitchen, Roshal, Mayur, Yashoda In fact that's why they have AIT discount.
If you have done all of the above with your assignments on time and survived the Pune university exams... You are an Engineer! And nothing can stop you now. Go Conquer the World.
