You'll call me mad if I tell you, nothing matters.
We, humans, are insignificant in front of the cosmos. The universe doesn't care what you think. And to top it off, you are nothing but empty space, because we are made of atoms and most of the atom is empty space, just a small nucleus and a gigantic void after that until you get to clouds of electrons (probabilistic) at different energy levels.
The universe is expanding and eventually, our sun will run out of fuel and maybe explode, the nearest Andromeda galaxy will collide with our milky way galaxy after that. Furthermore, all other galaxies would be soo far from earth that the sky would be pitch black. Luckily we won't be there to see it. Nothing as we know it today will exist. Hence even our existence today doesn't matter.
As Friedrich Nietzsche and Albert Camus said. We weren't created for any purpose, it's up to us to define our own purpose. I said in 2009 'The purpose of our life is to find our own purpose in life'. Sounds like a paradox, but that's what life is, and that's why we are told not to think about it. And just follow the meaning which is created by the society, religion or whatever culture you come from.
Existence is a pain, so many desires, so many requirements, so many disappointments. If we were to go by Albert Camus recommendation, suicide is one option. If that's not acceptable to you. Hedonism is another option, but sadly that's not an option for the society you live in (If you want to live that is). So the only option which remains is to live with a purpose, any purpose, and I'm again quoting Albert Camus here, your purpose defines who you are, it shouldn't be too easy or too hard, it should be on the edge of your capabilities and your purpose should be constantly evolving. Thus evolving you.
