The (changing) world theory

We are amongst a pandemic, a world-changing pandemic. For many people, their lives have completely flipped, plans for the future tossed out of the window. This is a time for spiritual awaking for many like me, also times for most profound distress where many are getting sick and losing lives or family members. Poor people indeed have the maximum to lose. This world educates you in different ways. You need to have a robust mental, spiritual, physical, and emotional backbone if you want to survive in this world. Productivity is the measure of your existence, productivity is the measure of your importance, either you're directly productive, or you enable productivity. 'Human beings' should be renamed to 'human doings' and as a human, just being simply doesn't exist in today's corporate world. At times, life also becomes unidimensional where work has the biggest priority, some people value family or romantic interests higher than work. Still, there's a trade-off for everything. In this article, I'll talk about the 'theory of the world' catering to all these dimensions.

Now, let's imagine yourself at birth as a dot and the entire world around you as an unexplored plane, as you grow up you explore new concepts of a mummy, papa, food, thirst, love etc. You are dependent on your parents to raise you, to grow you to who you'll become in the future. It's like in the age of empires your explore uncharted areas and thinks starts to make sense, slowly you get accustomed to your environment. In the initial stage, you learn by your experiences or mistakes, slowly you begin to incorporate the feedback of your parents, and that becomes an authority figure in your mind. After some time you discover that your parents actually don't have everything figured out, and they are humans too with their own faults and gaps. You look for motivation and inspiration in other places, maybe other role-models, books, teacher, mentors or friends. This defines your own personality, and you crystalise as a person. The more you're exposed to, the more nuanced your character becomes.
As you proceed through life, your personality changes and evolves, you identify yourself as a punk lover in your teens, but after five years you love alternative rock or soft jazz. You identify yourself as a sportsman in your early years, but your career choices take you to become something totally else. Sometimes you also don't know what you're sometimes becoming, you are just going with the flow.
Sometimes you have a clear direction of what you'll become or what you'll achieve if you follow a particular path. You are ready to pay the price for it, either it is studying to become a doctor or working out to become a bodybuilder.

As you proceed you change and your dot becomes a vector, this vector has some properties, it has a direction, a magnitude, it has some speed and adaptability. Let's try to visualise these four properties, your direction is where you want to go, you take this decision based on your experiences, whether those experiences are positive or negative. You're always striving toward moving in the correct direction, at the same time you have a magnitude which means how strongly you want to grow in a course, how much time, energy and focus are you ready to dedicate in one direction. You can grow in multiple directions, but you'll have to trade-off your magnitude for it. That's why it's essential to pick your battles, the faster you move is your speed and the world more than anything values speed of operations, you can be racing in the positive or negative direction. The younger you are, the more you can achieve, the better you're valued in life. That also builds up your experience and makes you resilient to move even further and faster along the direction.

Next, adaptability, the ability to change course along your journey, many people don't adjust themself according to the world, I believe this has something to do with how we are brought up. All our needs were catered to by our parents, and many people feel as long as they follow the rules laid out by their authority figures, everything will be alright. Those people don't come out of their secure shell. Those who refuse to adapt are stuck in a restricted view of the world with limited possibilities and find it really difficult to change in the ever-changing world. The truth is what it is, it's us mortal humans who have to be wise enough to be able to see it clearly.

With these attributes in mind, life becomes a game where you make decisions every second of your life to move in one direction, with a magnitude, to achieve a predecided goal. There are so many dips and valleys along the way. Your objective is to get to the highest mountain you can climb and then find new mountains to climb along the way there are so many skills, dreams, goals you can pick up as you go along and I believe no matter where you are your next move can be in any direction you chose to go.

Here's when I'd like to introduce the concept of dimensions, dimension is any activity you feel like doing, or you have to do - it could be your job, your daily chores, your rituals or your hobbies. Each second you spend doing anything you are giving your magnitude to a dimension and your skills points are increasing along this dimension. Now with this analogy life becomes a multi-dimensional matrix with your vector moving along multiple dimensions at a time, you just don't grow along one line, but you grow in many lines, many plans or many dimension. Sometimes, your dimensions are merging together and forming new evolved dimensions, it's a beautiful concept, which can be best illustrated with this example: suppose you started out as a singer, you practised your singing for years, and you got good at it, then you decided you want to pick up the guitar to improve your musical abilities and after enough time and practice you become a good guitarist now you merge your singing and guitar playing to become a good musician. And your new dimension becomes that of a musician, you don't look at yourself as a solo singer or a guitarist you look at yourself as a musician.

Now, given these attributes, there's a simple way to achieve what you want, just repeat the actions which lead to a particular result for someone, and you're granted the same results, right? Wrong. So if you believe you had the same experience and disposition as Albert Einstein would you be the next  Einstein? The thing that is different between who you are and whom you like to be like is that the world has already moved on from that person, that person created the impact they were meant to develop. You trying to replicate the same results with the same actions won't get you the same results Yes, you can get similar results if you follow the same general principles. But does the modern time guarantee you to get your golden ticket if you buy the Willy Wonka chocolate bar? The reason is the world is also changing, and all your plans and dreams have to fit well in modern reality, with where we are in this space-time continuum. I believe the best bet we have is to be present, be observant and be future-oriented to be able to predict what seems like the best course for us in the comings times.

Below is an audio clip of discussion on this topic with two of my brilliant friends.

The Good Boy Image.

Sure you can get a ‘A’ with this, Sure you can have good rapport with old folks with this and sure you would be an example for small children with this. But you know what you can’t get...Answer- A hot chick. I am going to tell you a story. Once upon a time there lived a boy, let’s call him…I don’t know…‘boy’…he was a good boy and always have been. Simple, no show off, caring, sensitive, loving, kind, respected girls…you got the idea naa… Now the story goes like this , there were girls around him who use to play with him, tease him, make fun of him, flirt with him(ya this happens with good boys only)…he use to reciprocate but in a very calm , good and noble manner, but he had a curse due to this ‘good boy image’ he can’t get all feely- feely with girls, can’t have a girlfriend as he was worried what his parents/teachers think if they got to know about it(stupid right?), and he has seen all the ‘stud’ types in the class were the one who really gets the girl . But this ...

The Cat and Dog world….

Note: I had always wondered what life is on the other side of the wall; well it’s pretty much the same… I, since childhood had a certain fear…of telling a girl that I liked her (the wall)…but on one fine day (or should I say night)…3:19am to be precise, message someone… ”awake?”… And then ‘IT’ happened… (Worst part- I wasn’t drunk) You must be probably wondering…what the hell! Does this has to do with the name of the topic…trust me, getting there…ok let’s see some characteristics of cats and dogs… CATS - are considered to be -   1.) Cute                                                  2.) Indifferent to others feelings (doesn’t get emotionally attached)                 ...

Things that Drive You...it's a motivational paper

What can make you jump right now? or to get up and run a mile?   or make you get serious in studies? or can make you win a losing game? What is the force which can make you cross the toughest of obstacles? Its motivation, motivation gives you determination, dedication, right set of mind and the power to take your actions. My observation has been that motivation comes from four emotions. The emotions of love, anger, peace and fear. Let me explain them one by one. Love   The numerous examples of romantic stories in which the lovers goes beyond limits to find their love, the love for science & curiosity which made so many discoveries & innovations possible. Love is towards thing which you love doing & can do it continuously without getting tired. It’s your passion and your need, love is the force which makes you move towards your goals with full excitement and enthusiasm.   The simplest way that I can put it is “you do a thing because you love it”. It can b...
